Don't call it a comeback

Hello! Today's post is a grab-bag of music-related stuff.

I am rebuilding my music newsletter. Say goodbye to the Demo Club, say hello to the Rec Room. The first newsletter just went out today. I'm going to try to do a quarterly or seasonal update just a few times a year.

The rest of this post you can just read in the newsletter! But here are the Big Important Things:

A new song: "The Muse (The Work Is The Wage)"

Recorded at Stone Gossard's Studio Litho, "The Muse" is my first recorded original song in many years, and it's just one of a whole new record's worth of tunes I'm working on. There's a bit of a story behind this song, which you can read in the newsletter.

You can get a free copy of "The Muse" when you subscribe to the newsletter.

A new EP: Backward Glance

Physical media!? In THIS economy!?

What is Backward Glance? Well, you can read about it in the newsletter! But to summarize: a six-song retrospective, with songs rebuilt from the ground up using the original source recordings and zhuzhed up with better gear. I may have even fixed a sour note or two. Or three.

Backward Glance will be released as a digital download and on a limited number of CDs, and you can pre-order it at Bandcamp right now. It goes live on Friday, November 6th.

A new thing: Covers Club

The Covers Club is a YouTube channel where I cover whatever song is stuck in my head. It's done quickly and in one take. Some will be great, others not so much. This time around are songs by Ken Yates and Pete Yorn. But you can only watch these if you subscribe.

(Did you try to click that image? I did. Several times.)

Is it all a bit much?

If it seems like I'm being a bit aggro about the newsletter, you're correct. I have a lot of thoughts on this, but I'll save those for another post. In the meantime future music news will be posted to the newsletter first, with a link and quick summary posted here.
